Quite loosely based on Hugo von Hofmannsthal,
Wald4tler Hoftheater OFF-Production

Everyone, the audience, and Death meet at twilight on the open-air stage of the Wald4tler Hoftheater: death, love, remorse, and the fight for justice—what else does a successful theater evening need? All of these themes are woven into Jedermann. For Hofmannsthal’s 150th birthday last year, Jakob Kraner and Johannes Bode rewrote the famous material into an entirely new version, adding a healthy dose of humor. The play asks anew how we can deal with death and transience.
The subject feels especially timely today—not only because of the collapse of a celebrated Austrian super‑entrepreneur and the growing wealth inequality in society, but also because recent global political developments have added another interpretive layer to the piece.
